In January 1983, Bernard C. White of Magnum Research filed a patent on a mechanism for a gas-actuated pistol which became the design of the Desert Eagle. The revolutionary design used mechanisms found in rifles, instead of the short recoil design in most semi-automatic pistols. In December 1985, a second patent was filed when the Israel Military Industries (IMI) refined it for production.Functionally, the Desert Eagle feels more like a rifle than a pistol, with its rotating bolt resembling an M16. The benefit of its gas-operation is that it allows for the use of far more powerful cartridges compared to traditional designs.
This Officially Licensed Desert Eagle .50AE gun is designed perfectly down to the last detail. This .50AE feels exactly like the real one when holding it. The gun construction is unbreakable with every detail worked out to the bone. The blowback action is very smooth and does not redirect your shots at all! The grip has that classic oversized magnificent hold. Each CO2 cartridge will last about 15 magazine loads. Broke in 3 days
I bought this as a birthday gift for my son. After 2 days of use, the left safety lever broke leaving only the right one usable. 2 days after the lever broke, the magazine that held the CO2 broke, so that whenever he put the CO2 into the magazine - it sprayed all of the CO2 out. I have read the other reviews, and they were all good; so it might just be one bad gun they sent.

Shipping
The product itself is fantastic, and it came two days earlier than the original delivery date, but the way it was shipped was partially unacceptable. It came wrapped in a single layer of shipping paper. Other why's everything is good.

Best deal on the best airsoft Desert Eagle
I've had mine for around 6 months now and it still works. I can get at least a mag and a half out of a single CO2 cartridge but I've never lubed it before so that maybe why. But yea this is a decent gun but I suggest buying extra mags. ALOT of recoil for an airsoft gun (took me awhile to get used to) and high rate of fire on full auto. Only experienced players should use it on the field though.
